Vampire survival game getting major free update that overhauls combat, castles, necromancers, and more-

Early access game V Rising has, since launch, amassed a sizeable audience of wannabe bloodsuckers, dedicated to building majestic castles and striking down the holy. At the start of the year developer Stunlock Studios announced it would first of all be improving what one might call the castle fantasy of the game: You couldn’t build vertically, so vampires were reduced to building up hills in order to get that essential looming gothic vibe, but very soon you can.

Stunlock has now detailed what will be the game’s first major (and free) expansion, though this doesn’t mean it’s leaving early access. There’s some major changes incoming, including an overhaul of the spellcasting and magic system that’s at the beating heart of the game’s combat. Arriving in May, it will “let you b…

Worst boss ever- Tech CEO applauds employee for selling family dog for the good of the company-

Look, we know all about slipping a Hearthstone game in now and then while working from home, but that doesn’t mean we’re not working hard. Some tech bosses, however, are convinced that their work-from-home employees are conspiring against them in ridiculous ways.

James Clarke, CEO of a digital marketing firm in Utah called Clearlink, recently held a virtual town hall to address concerns about the company’s forced return-to-office policy. He accused many of his employees of “quiet-quitting,” took a shot at working moms for spending time with their kids, and told employees they need to make sacrifices, like selling their dogs.

This policy reversal came after the company had assured employees in October that no one would be forced to return to the office, according …

After a 6 year brawl, Billy Mitchell is back in the record books even though Twin Galaxies ‘had all our ducks in a row’ for a courtroom showdown-

Almost exactly six years after being stricken from the record by the scorekeepers at Twin Galaxies, Billy Mitchell’s Donkey Kong’s scores are back in the (historical) books. In a statement released Tuesday, Twin Galaxies announced that it was restoring all of Mitchell’s scores to its official historical database but not, mind you, its modern leaderboards.

Mitchell was originally booted off of Twin Galaxies’ record books after a member of its forums named Xelnia—real name Jeremy Young—posted a thread disputing that Mitchell had attained his scores on original, unmodified hardware. Young alleged that Mitchell had actually gotten his scores via arcade emulator MAME, making them invalid for inclusion in the arcade category.

Xbox executives just cannot give a straight answer to questions about Tango Gameworks-

Earlier this year Microsoft announced the closure of four major studios on the same day, among which number was the Tokyo-based developer Tango Gameworks. Founded in 2010 by industry legend Shinji Mikami, best-known for creating Resident Evil, the studio developed the (excellent) Evil Within games as part of an eclectic output, with its most recent release the well-received rhythm beat-em-up Hi-Fi Rush.

Tango’s games were generally well-liked, and indeed Xbox executive Aaron Greenberg called the launch of Hi-Fi Rush (which was announced and released on GamePass on the same day) “a breakout hit for us and our players in all key measurements and expectations […] We couldn’t be happier with what the team at Tango Gameworks delivered with this surprise release.” I…

Oil prices fell for a second day on Tuesday as pledges by China, the world’s biggest crude importer, to transform its economy amid stuttering growth since the COVID pandemic failed to impress investors concerned about slower consumption. Brent futures for May fell 3 cents to $82.77 a barrel by 0159 GMT, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) fell 11 cents, to $78.63.

Brent settled 75 cents lower at $82.80 a barrel on Monday, while WTI settled down $1.24 at $78.74 a barrel.
