EveryMatrix license amended by Gambling Commission to see UK entry via Spearhead Studios

After recently revealing its new Miami commercial hub in the U.S., Malta-based B2B iGaming software provider EveryMatrix has now entered the UK market via its Spearhead Studios subsidiary.

The move is part of the St. Julian’s-headquartered company’s expansion goals in Europe and beyond and the direct result of a request to the Gambling Commission, which regulates commercial gambling and gambling websites in Great Britain, to amend its license to include Casino Host activities.

Market reach:

Having now expanded into casino content development and distribution in the European country, EveryMatrix is able to tailor game content to UK-operating online casinos. The amended license will see its Spain-based iGaming developer Spearhead Studios make its rapidly-growing games portfolio available to operators, with plans for the addition of new titles geared to the UK market.

Commenting on the expansion, Managing Director for Spearhead Studios, Mathias Larsson said they are “excited to get into the UK market,” and the team is “dedicated to making the studios’ games widely available in Europe and beyond.”

Larsson added that he is “looking forward to making new business connections with operators looking to source exciting titles for their players.”

Spearhead Studios:

Launched by EveryMatrix in 2018, the Marbella, Spain-based studio creates its games via the company’s remote gaming server, RGS Matrix. Since its founding, Spearhead Studios has unveiled 31 slots and table games within its portfolio, including popular titles such as Blue Diamond Book, Book of the Princess, and Book of Souls II: El Dorado, the sequel to its best-performing title in 2019, which stars British archeologist turned treasure hunter, Lara Jones.

The real-money game production studio will soon be unveiling five more games, including Romans Legions of Gold, Video Poker Jack or Better, Knights of Fortune, Cyber Hunter 2080, and Bounty on the High Seas, in the near future.

Croatia certification:

Earlier in March, Spearhead Studios announced that it had completed its certification on the Croatian market. The addition sees the supplier authorized to provide its portfolio of online video slots and table games in 12 markets in Europe and Latin America, and is, after finalizing its Colombia certification process in June 2020, looking to expand its presence in the latter region in 2021.

The studio’s portfolio is available to more than 100 operators via a mix of direct integrations and casino aggregation having partnered with leading companies including Malta-headquartered B2B iGaming provider and aggregator Relax Gaming, along with Oryx Gaming, Microgaming, Pariplay, SOFTSWISS, and British developer and provider of online and land-based gaming solutions, BetConstruct.

Coming soon:

As mentioned, Spearhead Studios is set to release its next online slot, Romans Legions of Gold, on March 23, so be sure to be on the lookout!

Rohrer- Make fewer consumable games, more ‘unique situation generators’

The indie game market shifts quickly, and devs do their best to shift with it.

Today at GDC in San Francisco, longtime indie dev Jason Rohrer hopped onstage to share his observations of how devs can adapt to thrive in an indie game market that's dramatically changed in just the few years between 2014 and 2018.

In that time Rohrer released three games (The Castle Doctrine, Cordial Minuet, and One Hour One Life), and at GDC today he shared sales data from two of them to back up his core thesis: that for a variety of reasons, self-contained games with defined paths and endpoints (think: Tacoma, The Witness) are now signific…

A Happy Gilmore Hybrid Fighting And Golf Game Was Actually Pitched
